A floor below the pulsing urban beats of Ernest Alexander's British urban S/S 14 collection lay the serene scene of his more classic line: Bespoken. This collection had a country weekend wear feel – for the style-savvy city slicker who escapes the concrete playground on the refreshing first days of spring. Models elevated on low pedestals were dressed in crisp oxfords of varying blues, rusts, white and prints paired with sharply tailored blazers and shorts. Waxed cotton and nylon outerwear complimented the looks, from classic bomber-esque silhouettes to two-tone zip-up jackets with snap collars. All designs effortlessly balanced masculine overtones with style that easily translates to a variety of classic menswear ideals.
Inspired by travel abroad, the addition of bags to the collection was apt choice. When on the move, a catchall bag is a necessity – and Alexander hit a high note with a stunning array of leather and cloth weekender bags in navy, gray, and camouflage print. Woven briefcases and totes to make even the most coiffed of men have bag envy paired with a texturally cohesive allure. Excuse me while I go find my passport - and my checkbook.
