Suzanne Rae

The Suzanne Rae presentation at the Philippine Consulate was a slightly whimsical experience. Draped, cream-colored linen provided the backdrop for her designs as models rotated from station to station. It was a lovely setup, but it was somewhat difficult to ignore the decorations in the room. Large paintings took away from Suzanne's simplistic designs. It was quite a change from the usual white walls of the Chelsea studios used for NYFW.

As a makeup artist, I paid extra attention to the makeup looks at each show. Here at Suzanne Rae, key makeup artist James Vincent designed an almost-angelic look that I quickly fell in love with. Models sported dewy skin with a youthful pink blush, matching lip tint and a bold, deeper pink beneath the eyes. Makeup was sponsored by Kevyn Aucoin.
