Words Arielle Chambers
Chromat is always a show to expect uniqueness, never ceasing to shock the audience. Last year’s synchronized swimming was a spectacle, but nonetheless, so was this year’s show at Milk Studios. Chromat’s pieces were composed of leather and 3D printed spandex for bodies of all shapes and sizes. The designer emphasized the versatility of the pieces in her collection, as reflected in the non-discriminatory choices for models. Model selection included plus-sized, transgender, and editorial-sized women. The edginess of the pieces in conjunction with the bold hair and makeup rightfully validated the show’s title, Chromat Party.
